Sundays

What happens on a Sunday morning?

We gather in worship, sing and pray, greet one another, welcome guests, share joys and heartaches, hear a message and the ways we can join together in serving God and sharing Jesus’ love in the world.

How do I find the church?

We are located in Hermiston, Oregon, just off of Highway 395. Here’s our address. Drop it in your map app and it will lead you right to our door.

Oasis Vineyard Church
1255 S Hwy 395

How long will the service last?

Our services begin at 10:00 am on Sunday and last about ninety minutes.

Where do I park?

We have plenty of convenient parking in front of the church.

What time do I need to arrive?

You are welcome to arrive before 10:00 am. People often gather and visit before church, and check in with their friends and other members. If you come early we would be happy to show you around the facilities. Or if you prefer to “sneak” in and check things out, you are welcome to slide in the door right at 10:00 am.

What happens when I arrive?

We always have greeters at the main glass doors on the east side of the building. The greeters will welcome you, answer any questions, and show you the way to our worship area or where to check-in your children for children's ministry. When you enter the sanctuary, you may choose a seat, wherever you feel comfortable. We have a spacious sanctuary. Make yourself comfortable.

Do I need to bring any money?

No. While the church is funded by donations from members and friends, there is no charge or expectation that visitors will donate money.

What should I wear?

Some people dress up. Some people are very casual. Come dressed in whatever way you feel comfortable.

Will there be something for my kids?

Yes, we have a full children's ministry designed to minister to various ages and developmental stages from birth through 5th grade.  Our check-in for all classes opens at 9:45.  Children in the nursery (birth to 2 year olds) and preschool classrooms are able to go directly to class for the entire service time.  Those in Kindergarten through 5th grade check-in before service, sit with their family during the worship time in the sanctuary and then go to their class for the rest of the service. You are also welcome to have your family worship and enjoy the service together.  We love kids and seeing them connect with God. Each week the preschool and elementary class have a lesson, with crafts and games that they work through and we also take time to hear their prayer requests and pray together. The classes also regularly have times of worship that is geared for their age groups.  Periodically during the year the kids in children's ministry learn some special songs with hand motions and share those with the congregation.

What is there for my teenagers?

Teenagers can participate in all aspects of church life. As a matter of fact, we like it when they do. Several of our teens help out in children's ministry and in on our worship teams.  Currently we have a Wednesday youth night gathering twice a month. There is time for games and fun together as well as worship, a short lesson and prayer.

How can I become a member?

We encourage those new to Oasis to join us for our Newcomer's lunch which we have every other month.  This is a great first step to hearing the vision, values, mission of Oasis as well as our history and areas of focus.  Joining a small group is another great way to get a sense of the community and make relationships.  For those who are feeling called to make Oasis their home church our next step is to become a ministry partner. We run a one hour Sunday class for this twice a year.
